I had the opportunity to interview Canadian Olympic figure skater Stephen Gogolev before he headed to the Milano Cortina 2026 Olympics. I wrote this article to focus on how he balances university with training. I continued to follow his Olympic journey, posting updates on the institution's social channels. 

Every spring, I have the privilege of writing convocation profiles for the University of St. Michael's College. Sitting down with graduating students and hearing about their journeys is one of the most rewarding parts of my work.  I love speaking with soon-to-be graduates, hearing about the paths that brought them to St. Michael's, and capturing that particular mix of pride and wistfulness as they reflect on their time here and look ahead to what comes next. This is one of the profiles I wrote on Medieval Studies graduate James Nowak.
